Enford Street flooding
On the 25th of September 2025 our beloved school was severely flooded and damaged by a burst water main on Enford Street – thankfully this happened outside school hours while the building was unoccupied .
Dear school families it has been a challenging time for St Mary’s. Both the Church and the School were severely impacted by the flooding and have had to adapt to continue meeting the needs of the community and the children. The Church basement was completely flooded and within the school some areas had as much as 4 feet of water. We are truly grateful; for the fortitude and resilience of our wonderful school leadership and staff, for Gateway academy supporting our children’s learning by providing them a place for learning, for the Diocese working tirelessly to support our school and continue serving the congregation and community with alternative arrangements – and for all the other Churches, businesses, schools and members of the community who have reached out to support the school – we are truly blessed.
Special thanks to one our school members, Nikki, for coordinating a crowdfunder for the school to support current operations – you can find more information about the impact of the flood and donate via this link : https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/lovestmbs

Thank you all for your support.
